frequently asked questions
- What should I wear?
-
This is definitely up to you. I want you to feel comfortable in front of my camera. Which means you need to feel comfortable in your skin/outfit. However, I do recommend you stay away from character outfits. I want you (or your child) to be the main focus and not the 'Dora the Explorer' on her sweater. Check out my inspiration board on Pinterest for Outfit ideas. Need a little extra help with what to wear? No worries. I love assisting my clients with wardrobe styling.
- How many outfits can I bring?
-
Feel free to bring up to 4 different options and I will help pick out the most flattering ones.
- How long is a session?
-
Regular fine art portrait sessions can vary between 1-2 hours.
- How soon after the session can we view our proofs?
-
I try to have them uploaded between 7-10 business days after the session. Please allow an additional 2-3 days if I shot hybrid: digital & film.
- Do you shoot film or digital?
-
I'm a hybrid shooter. I shoot digital along with some film. I believe in the tangible. I don't just want you to store your images on your electronic devices and hard drives, I want you to actually display your photographs or other art pieces we choose to create (canvas prints, books, albums...) in your home.
- What camera system do you use?
-
I'm a Nikonian and I shoot with Nikon's D750 & D700 DSLR as well as the F100 & N70 35mm film SLR.
- Will you beauty edit my pictures?
-
I strongly believe in capturing the beautiful you, just as you are. I will never over-process your images. That is just not my style. I will remove pimples and lighten bags under eyes to some extend for actual portrait prints and products, however scars and moles, which I believe are a part of who you are, those I generally will not edit. I will also not smooth out your skin or liquify your body to look something other than what it really is and I strongly suggest you hire a professional hair & make-up artist for your shoot or choose to add-on this service to your session for a small fee. [Full beauty edits can be done - please just ask me for a price quote.]
- How much can I expect to pay for my portrait session?
-
My average client spends anywhere between $800-$1100.
- Do you offer payment plans?
-
Absolutely! Just email or call me and I can help set something up to best fit your needs. (The session fee has to be paid off before the actual shoot. Any prints and products purchased will not be delivered until all payments have been made in full.)
